Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Calenytic (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) collects, uses, and protects your data. In general the app is offline first, meaning your calendar is directly and only stored on your device with the following exceptions.

1. Information We Collect
1.1 Calendar Data

  • We access your Google Calendar events only after you authenticate via Google OAuth.

  • Events include: title, date, time, and metadata required for app functionality.

  • Data is stored locally on your device for offline use.

  • We do not store calendar data on our servers.

1.2 Push Notifications

  • Selected event metadata (event ID, start/end time) is sent to Firebase to deliver push notifications and update Live Activities.

  • Firebase stores only the information necessary for delivering notifications.

1.3 Analytics

  • We use PostHog (EU-hosted) to collect anonymous usage data, such as screen views, feature usage, and app launches.

  • No personal identifiers (name, email, device ID) are sent to PostHog.

  • This data is used to improve the app and understand usage patterns.

  • Analytics can be disabled in the app settings.

1.4 Diagnostics

  • Crash and performance data may be collected through Firebase Crashlytics for debugging and improving the app.

  • No personal identifiers are included unless you explicitly provide them (e.g., via support requests).

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Calendar Data: To display events, synchronize with Google Calendar, provide reminders, and update Live Activities.

  • Push Notification Data: To deliver timely notifications for events and Live Activities updates.

  • Analytics Data: To improve the app and monitor usage trends.

  • Diagnostics Data: To detect crashes and improve app stability.

3. Data Sharing

  • We do not sell, trade, or share your personal calendar events.

  • Firebase and PostHog process data solely as service providers.

  • Data shared with these providers is limited to the minimum necessary for their service and is fully compliant with EU data protection regulations.

4. Google Calendar API Compliance

  • Our app’s use of Google Calendar data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

  • Your Google Calendar data is not used for advertising or shared outside of the app functionality.

5. User Rights

You have the following rights under applicable laws:

  • Access & Portability: You can access your calendar events via the app or Google Calendar.

  • Data Deletion: Calendar events remain on your device. For analytics or diagnostic data, contact us at the email below.

  • Withdraw Consent: You may revoke your Google account connection at any time by disconnecting it from the app. This can also be easily done through the app settings menu.

6. Security

  • All locally stored calendar data is stored securely on your device.

  • Firebase and PostHog data are transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).

  • We follow standard security practices to protect your data.

7. Children

  • This app is not intended for children under 13.

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this Policy

  • We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Updates will be posted to this page with the “Last updated” date updated. We encourage you to check this page periodically.

9. In-App Purchases

  • The app may offer in-app purchases or subscriptions to unlock premium features. All payment processing is handled exclusively and securely by Apple via the App Store. We do not process, collect, or store your credit card details.

  • Use of RevenueCat: We use a third-party service, RevenueCat, to manage in-app purchases, validate receipts, and sync your subscription status across your devices. RevenueCat receives anonymized app user IDs and purchase receipt data directly from Apple. RevenueCat does not have access to your personal financial information.

  • Purchase data is used solely to provide and maintain your access to the app's features and is not sold or shared with any other third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
